It's real handy, and real simple too:

• Power down your macbook.
• Power it back on, and immediately press the "T" key.
(keep it pressed untill the firewire logo appears)

• Now you can connect it to another mac using a firewire cable and the mac will see it as an external hard-drive.

Easy as pie.
