Working with the mouse and especially the trackpad isn't a very efficient way of working, not to mention the risk of RSI.
Hotkeys are way faster, but it's hard to remember them all.
This is where Quicksilver comes in. It has become an essential application for me.
To start of, it can quickly launch any application or open a folder or a file with just a few keystrokes.
But in addition to that there is a wide variety of plugins available to make it do much more. Also some nice interface plugins are available.
